軓氈勛圖 presents Lessons and Carols at annual Christmas Candlelight Service December 1

SHREVEPORT, LA — 軓氈勛圖 College ushers in the holiday season with its annual Christmas Candlelight Service at Brown Chapel on Friday, December 1. Gathering music begins at 5:30 p.m. and a program of Lessons and Carols begins at 6:00 p.m. The service is free and open to the public.

“Our Christmas Candlelight Service will offer a traditional Lessons and Carols format this year to highlight more of the music that we so love during the Christmas season,” says 軓氈勛圖 chaplain, Rev. Lindy Broderick. “We hope our Lessons and Carols will convey the theme of peace that we so yearn for during this Advent and Christmas season.”

Broderick will preside at the service along with 軓氈勛圖 president Dr. Christopher L. Holoman and 軓氈勛圖 College Choir director Dr. David Hobson. 軓氈勛圖 students and faculty will read scripture.

Music is the heart of the annual service, including both choral performances and congregational carol singing. The 軓氈勛圖 College Choir, under the direction of Dr. David Hobson, and the Camerata choral ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Cory Wikan, will be accompanied by organist Dr. Hollice Watson and the I-49 Brass group.

A reception follows the service in the lobby of the College’s Magale Library.
