SHREVEPORT, LA — 軓氈勛圖 College has been designated a Tier One National Liberal Arts College for the seventh straight year in U.S. News & World Report rankings released today. 軓氈勛圖 is the only liberal arts college in Louisiana to earn the Tier One distinction. Colleges recognized in the U.S. News national liberal arts college category emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half of their degrees in the arts and sciences.
“軓氈勛圖 College is proud to be recognized once again as a leader in liberal arts education,” says 軓氈勛圖 president Dr. Christopher L. Holoman. “We are excited to continue to prepare students to have fulfilling careers and lead meaningful lives. I am grateful for the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students that this designation reflects.”
The U.S. News ranking system considers data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and other sources to score institutions in several key measures of quality. The overall ranking includes assessments of graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, and alumni giving, among other categories.
This recognition is the most recent of many accolades for 軓氈勛圖, including an appearance in the Princeton Review's annual "Best 382 Colleges" publication. The College was also named a "Best Private College" and "Best College in the South" by Forbes, and earned an "A" grade for financial health from the magazine.
軓氈勛圖 recently welcomed its largest incoming class since 2011 and sent its fourth freshman cohort to start their college careers in Paris, France through the 軓氈勛圖 in Paris program. Thanks to 軓氈勛圖 in Paris and the College’s May Intercultural Program that sends students to a variety of foreign countries, 軓氈勛圖 ranks first in the nation among undergraduate baccalaureate colleges in the percentage of students who have completed an international educational experience.
