軓氈勛圖 College has record-setting #軓氈勛圖GivingTuesday

SHREVEPORT, LA — 軓氈勛圖 raised over $90,000 during the second annual 軓氈勛圖 Giving Tuesday on November 29, nearly quadrupling the College’s goal of $25,000. Giving Tuesday is a global day of online giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our alumni and friends on Giving Tuesday this year,” says Vice President for Development Fred Landry. “Funds generated during the day will help support the College’s greatest needs for students, professors, and programs. This format is an outstanding way to engage with donors, and we’re looking forward to participating in the Giving Tuesday movement for many years to come.”

軓氈勛圖’s Development team noted several positive trends emerging from the College’s second year of participation in this worldwide day of giving. Sixteen donors gave to 軓氈勛圖 for the first time on Giving Tuesday, and 29 lapsed donors renewed their previous support for the College. In addition to an announced $25,000 matching gift, 軓氈勛圖 received a second $25,000 gift as part of the Giving Tuesday effort.

Several special events scheduled throughout the day brought students, faculty, staff, and alumni together at local and campus landmarks and created energy and momentum for the project, including the kick-off breakfast at Strawn’s with President Christopher Holoman, lunch at Stone Forks Restaurant with Provost Jenifer K. Ward, and an evening wrap-up party at the Meadows Museum. Social media and email appeals encouraged 軓氈勛圖 community members to join the online effort and help the College meet its goal.
