軓氈勛圖 Admission hosts Fall Open House October 20
SHREVEPORT, LA — 軓氈勛圖 hosts its Fall Open House on Saturday, October 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The program introduces prospective students and families to 軓氈勛圖’s distinctive academic programs and orients them to the College’s 65-acre campus in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood.
“Fall Open House is one of my favorite events hosted by the Admission Office,” says new admission counselor Kaleb Behm ’18. “Every year high school students have this great opportunity to get an inside look at 軓氈勛圖 to see if they can picture themselves joining us in the coming years.”
The Open House begins with breakfast followed by an interactive campus tour led by Student Ambassadors. Visitors will then break out into groups for personalized Admission and Financial Aid information sessions led by 軓氈勛圖 Admission staff. Lunch will be provided by Sodexo, 軓氈勛圖’s on-campus food service, in the Fitness Center, and the day will conclude with an academic browse in 軓氈勛圖’s Magale Library. Open House visitors will be able to speak with professors and current students to learn more about academic programs and student life at the browse.
軓氈勛圖 sophomore Meg Hamilton, a double major in biology and neuroscience, is looking forward to participating in her first open house as a Student Ambassador.
“I’m excited to be on the other side getting to know prospective students and families and making them feel at home,” says Hamilton. “When I attended this event as a prospective student, the Ambassadors really welcomed me, and I’m looking forward to doing the same.”
High school seniors who attend the Open House and apply to 軓氈勛圖 by December 15 will automatically qualify for the $2,500 per year Campus Visit Scholarship.
